Description

currently I have 17 albums for pictures on facebook, but DT only shows 8 of them in the album selector.
Steps to recreate:
  1. create more then 8 albums in facebook through their website
  2. login to facebook using DT and check the album dropdown list
(I'm not sure if this would trigger this error...)

Where are we on this issue? Just curious why no response from anyone with the current 1.4.2 release this feature still has the same bug. For me it only shows 18 out of 40+ photo albums and as a feature it might as well not be there because its useless. I understand its low on priorities, but any feed back or acknowledgment that its a known issue whether for everyone or is it a select few people running certain distros would appreciated. Thanks.

I'm not particularly familiar with that bit of code... But I can't see any arbitrary album number restrictions...

That said, this does pop out:

https://github.com/darktable-org/darktable/blob/master/src/imageio/storage/facebook.c#L464

So we filter out albums Facebook does not allow to be uploaded to. So presumably the albums you're missing, might have some permissions issue in Facebook itself.

Thank you sir for the info! I'll double check the permissions on those albums and see what comes up. The thing is I know for a fact I actually made a new album within dt a few nights ago and its public but doesn't show up in dt at ALL. I'm no programmer, but I'll try to investigate further.

Hello,

I've done a quick comparison regarding which albums appear in the list and which doesn't.
It seems to me that those albums that are shared with Friends/Friends except A./Family, they appear in the list, and those shared with the Public or Friends and their friends they won't appear in the list.
I've also tried to change the permission of those that didn't appear before in dt from Public and "Friends and Friends of friends" to simply Friends and now they appear in darktable as well!

So is it possible that fb won't allow upload to albums that can be viewed by a wider audience than friends?

Still the case in 1.6.0 (MacOS)

I can confirm the issue is still present and it depends on the album's privacy. Actually DT can see the album with "friends" visibility only.

If you change the Darktable application visibility to everyone, all your album become visible. I think could be a good idea to change this to include all albums.

We need a dev with a Facebook account. I'm not sure we have one.
