Description

When I import raw shots from my DMC LX7, I get weird colors I can't manage to adjust neither using different input or output profiles, base curve or white balance. The light table thumbnails looks ok just after import, but as soon as I enter the darkroom, the colors are heavily shifted. Then in the light table the thumbnail is updated with the weird colors.

Screenshot of light table thumbnails after the color shift (both jpg and raw formats versions the same shot) : http://ubuntuone.com/5NgVKfEmzOhMM6cUN4fyBN

Sample RAW photo to reproduce the problem : http://ubuntuone.com/3TP5UKlsvXkR2XUANykVrJ

Please tell me if I can provide more information.

using darktable 1.1.3+25~gba0923f from ubuntu unstable ppa.

#1 Updated by Pascal de Bruijn about 7 years ago

  • % Done changed from 0 to 10
  • Target version set to Candidate for next patch release
  • Priority changed from Medium to Low
  • Assignee set to Pascal de Bruijn
  • Status changed from New to Confirmed
  • Subject changed from Panasonic DMC LX7 support has bad color profile to Panasonic DMC LX7 support

This problem occurs because of the different aspect ratio modes of the LX7, currently only 4:3 is supported.

We need samples of each aspect ratio mode (3:2,16:9,1:1) to add support for them.

#2 Updated by Pascal de Bruijn about 7 years ago

So I commited preliminary 3:2 support:

https://github.com/darktable-org/darktable/commit/c288c7a38680d6195cc2433215c040bd1d85a9ff

Testing packages will likely be available on my Darktable Unstable PPA in a few hours.

Great. Here are sample photos of the other two aspect ratios:

Thanks for the fast response!

Preliminary support was committed:

https://github.com/darktable-org/darktable/commit/961b931fc2f43145095bbcd5dca0c2b65e7fab83

Testing packages will likely be available on my Darktable Unstable PPA in a few hours.

Could you please report back if everything is in working order for you?

Sorry for the delay...

I confirm it works now for all aspect ratios.

Now, another issue is the lens distortion, which is tremendous at wide angle (easy to compare between JPG and RAW versions of the same shot). DT has a "DMC-LX7" profile under the "Lens correction" filter, but it does not seem to do anything. Anything I can to to help with this ?

Thanks for the great work.
