Description

Here's a RAW file from my Panasonic DMC-G5:

http://susweb.net/P1010125.RW2

This displays with a magenta colour caste on my system in darktable 1.1.3 (xubuntu 12.10 x64 darktable PPA install).

I tried troubleshooting with help from IRC channel and edited black levels in /usr/share/darktable/rawspeed/cameras.xml. But it seems that the file is not read as after saving and restarting darktable and entering darkroom the files were still displayed with the same colour caste.

With a bit of help from pmjdebruijn on IRC I've just fixed this on my computer. It was an aspect ratio issue. I update cameras.xml with entries for all the aspect ratios supported by the camera and it now works fine.

The aspect ratios are: 4:3 (already in cameras.xml), 3:2, 16:9 and 1:1.

(Should have trusted my intuition as I suggested this in IRC yesterday but was told it wouldn't work!)

Many thanks for everyone's help - you have a great community here - I'll be back!

#3 Updated by Pascal de Bruijn almost 7 years ago

  • % Done changed from 20 to 50
  • Target version set to Candidate for next minor release
  • Status changed from Triaged to In Progress

So we fixed this in git master as well:

https://github.com/darktable-org/darktable/commit/83b34d02bc7d3491e9190159c379324c6c142a2e
https://github.com/darktable-org/darktable/commit/cb4f77b2f74444b6b750c0f87b5826ec9dbb09b0

I've pushed updated package to my Unstable PPA (they'll take a few hours to build):

https://launchpad.net/~pmjdebruijn/+archive/darktable-unstable

Would you mind testing all the aspect ratio's with that build?

So I can confirm to Klaus Post (RawSpeed author) it's all fine?

#4 Updated by Pascal de Bruijn almost 7 years ago

  • Priority changed from Medium to Low
  • Assignee set to Pascal de Bruijn

Could you please confirm if all the aspect ratio's are working as expected?

#5 Updated by Tom Atkins almost 7 years ago

Sorry not to reply before. Yes all aspect ratios working now.

#6 Updated by Pascal de Bruijn almost 7 years ago

  • % Done changed from 50 to 100
  • Status changed from In Progress to Fixed

#7 Updated by Achim Weßling over 6 years ago

Ich setze aktuell eine Version 1.2.2 (http://ppa.launchpad.net/pmjdebruijn/darktable-release/ubuntu) unter Ubuntu ein. In dieser sind die Änderungen nicht enthalten.

I actualy use Darktable 1.2.2 (http://ppa.launchpad.net/pmjdebruijn/darktable-release/ubuntu precise). In this version the described changes are not available. I had to add them manually.

#8 Updated by Pascal de Bruijn over 6 years ago

  • % Done changed from 100 to 90
  • Assignee changed from Pascal de Bruijn to Simon Spannagel
  • Status changed from Fixed to Fixed: To be cherry-picked

Then we must have forgotten to pull the fix into stable branch.
