Description

Hi,

magiclantern has a feature to display focussed regions on the camera's LCD screen.
Focussed means regions with the largest gradient or largest second derivative.
This is useful for quickly identifying where the sharp regions of an image are.

It would be nice to have something simliar in darktable.
Maybe a button like the "display over- and underexposed regions" button.

History

#1 Updated by Tobias Ellinghaus over 5 years ago

  • Status changed from New to Triaged
  • % Done changed from 0 to 20
  • Category set to Darkroom
  • Subject changed from Feature wish -- display focussed regions to Indicate focussed regions
  • Target version set to Future

Sounds nifty. No more searching for the focus plane, just a quick glance.

#2 Updated by Johannes Hanika over 5 years ago

  • Status changed from Triaged to Duplicate

see #8822

#3 Updated by Tobias Ellinghaus over 5 years ago

  • % Done changed from 0 to 20
  • Status changed from Duplicate to Triaged

#8822 has nothing to do with this. The other feature request is about displaying the focus points the camera used and stored in EXIF while this one is about calculating the pixels which are the sharpest.

#4 Updated by Tobias Ellinghaus over 4 years ago

  • % Done changed from 20 to 100
  • Category changed from Darkroom to Lighttable
  • Status changed from Triaged to Fixed
  • Target version changed from Future to Candidate for next minor release

It will be in 1.4, however not for darkroom but lighttable.
