Description

Blendif is awesome!

I just figured out last night that the noise removal plugin can work wonders if applied only for darker parts of the image. The next step would be to only apply it for areas with low detail, e.g. a bokeh of dark green, but not for the highly detailed sharp shots.

We've got R/G/B, L/a/b, Chroma, Hue, how about adding a frequency slider to blendif? (I don't fully understand what this is, but I"m talking about the basic principle of the equaliser module.)

So what about using the equalizer for this?
There you can do the frequency selection, have a look at the various noise suppression presets for the module.

I doubt this will find its way into blendif sicne this is a quite consuming operation. Maybe Ulrich has some notes...

No chance for blendif as it is by nature a pixel by pixel algorithm.

As Simon pointed out, with equalizer we have a very efficient algorithms that works in the frequency domain.
