Description

When looking for a certain plugin in darkroom mode, I often have to hover over pretty much every single icon before I can find the plugin that I want to set as a favourite or hide.

If the icons that are used in [more plugins] were to be displayed in their respective groups, this would make life easier.

At the same time, the icons in [more plugins] are currently unordered (as far as I can tell, anyway). It would make it easier if the groups (basic, tone, colour, correction, effect) were reflected in [more plugins] as well. It would be also quite intuitive (I think) to just drag and drop plugins into a favourite group in either [more plugins] or the list of active favourites.

Hi richards,

thanks for the input. We are currently discussing how to treat "more plugins". It's quite sure that there will be some refactoring since it was quite effective when we had about 10 plugins. But nowadays with about 50 plugins a lot of users (well, including us) have problems finding stuff.

Most probably (but not: this is not decided yet) we'll move it to the preference pane not to confuse users - since those entries are meant to be user once to enable/disbale plugins one wants to work with.

So, I set the milestone to "future" since this is nothing to go into 1.0.x

regards, Simon

Currently the plugins are sorted in groups when they are shown, but those groups are not visible in [more plugins]. I think applying the same groups in [more plugins] will make things somewhat more intuitive already.

  • Category set to Darkroom
  • Priority changed from High to Low
  • Status changed from New to Triaged
  • % Done changed from 0 to 20

The plugins are ordered the same in the right panel as in [more plugins] (it's called module now, but whatever): the order they are applied.

#4 Updated by Johannes Hanika about 5 years ago

  • Status changed from Triaged to Fixed
  • % Done changed from 20 to 100

this has been redone (thx boucman), and will probably be redone again in the future (but that needs another ticket).
