Description

I updated to version 1.0 on arch linux and found the image size in the darkroom mode much too small.

The image no longer fills up the the middle panel, as it did in < 1.0 versions. I will attach a screenshot.
Using the zoom function does not change the image size, neither does it change when I minimize the left or the right panel.

The small image size makes darktable quite unusable for the moment.

I was able to change this by adjusting the 'maximum width/height of image drawing area' in the settings.
With the previous (default?) setting 0 the image was too small, but now it fits better.

However, couldn't darktable use the panel with by default?

Its a duplicate to #8626

Thanks for the workaround, works great after restarting darktable!

Do you have also this strange behavior in the border regions of the window like described in #8626?

yes, same border here, this occurs also with the changed 'max size' setting.
