Description

Darktable 0.8 under Ubuntu 11.04 Unity

In the Lighttable page for camera import there is an option to override the default (today's) date, which is useful if you are importing all your images (after a week away, for example).
However, whatever the format I use to put the date in the date field, it is ignored and all images are stored with the "today's date" tag on directory and filename.

As an enhancement, it would be useful IMHO to have the option to have the images saved in directories and with filenames according to the date the shot was taked (from the EXIF data).

seconded, please allow for images to be saved by the date in their EXIF data instead of the date of import.
