tags from darktable aren't exported from RAW to jpg
I have a CR2 image that I added a tag to in darktable. I then
proceeded to export that image to jpeg, and hoped to see the
tag in the exif data of the jpeg file. The tag was missing.
Darktable version is from git, with the most recent changeset

Guys, I know this is an old bug I'm responding to, but I didn't find a newer one.
I'm experiencing a similar bug, but with Version 2.2.4+6 (on mac).
If I apply tags to my .RAF file (Fuji Raw) these will not show up in the exported .jpg.
Is this bug still/again open?

- File Screen Shot 2017-05-08 at 16.13.28.png Screen Shot 2017-05-08 at 16.13.28.png added
- File RAA-20140420-48.jpg.xmp RAA-20140420-48.jpg.xmp added
- File RAA-20140420-48.jpg RAA-20140420-48.jpg added
Attached 3 files. A jpg, the .xmp (that's not really needed, is it?) and a screenshot of the Lighttable step with the tag-module at the right side.
The jpg file does contain some exif information (Image description, Artist, Rating, Copyright) but that was not applied by Darktable, but by Lightroom when I imported the file in Lightroom, some years ago.
Today I imported the .RAF file in Darktable and the Tags which I applied in Lightroom where visible in the Tag-module of Darktable.
However, when I process the file and export it to jpg, it does not include the tags, so it seems.
Do I need to include an additional step/checkbox/setting... before I hit the export button?

Very strange, your XMP works with one of my images. Could you upload the original JPEG you used that with please? You can also mail it to me if you are not comfortable sharing original files: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Edit: I just saw that your original is a RAF file. The XMP however says that it was created for a JPEG. Maybe you mixed something up, applying tags to the wrong picture? That would however still not explain the total lack of XMP data. Are there any messages printed when starting dt from a terminal?

Might have been just fixed by https://github.com/darktable-org/darktable/commit/584a231fc3b31c0bcb9c881fad9c3dfeb23c8c4b

Sorry I couldn't respond earlier. I wasn't at home for couple of days.
I just shared a Dropbox folder with you, since the file was too big for gmail to handle.
I shared the following files:
Originally imported using Lightroom and added tags/metadata using Lightroom (some yeas ago)
Used Darktable to import the same .dng as mentioned above. The tags added by lightroom were visible in Darktable. Exported this .jpg using Darktable, based on the .dng. Tags not visible, image description is visible, like Artist, Rating and Copyright info.
The xmp created by Darktable when exporting the .jpg (same output folder as the.jpg)
I also have a linux machine and got the same result (with other image files)
Please let me know if you want more info or run more scenario's.
I'll be happy to provide and be of assistance.
