Actually I am trying to find a good way to co-operate with digikam (having it used a long time it would be very hard to migrate all my stuff).

I figured out, that one way is to associate the raw-files with darktable in konqueror and to open them with right-click in digikam. Darktable opens then one raw-file, starts with the developer and adds an entry in the lighttable. The file is added under single_images.

It would be fine, to be able to send multiple raw-files to darktable as command line options. In that case darktable should only put this files into the lighttable and start with the lighttable view.

And just for interest: Is there any possibility to bring together the two applications (darktable and digikam) on the level of the sqlite databases?

Nothing, just a trac fuckup. Thanks for noticing. :-)

houz: I read you were working on cmd dt lately? :)

Yes, but there are a few design issues in dt's core to fix before it will work. And I don't think that it will help with this request.

Just found this after reporting #426 - closing that as a duplicate

Would it be possible to create a collection for any number of files from the command line?

Would you want to see only those files specified on the command line being visible (ie, no access to your library, or limited access to your library), or to start with those files selected/maximised in the lighttable?

Our dt_main() getopt-style processing could do with some enhancement, this feature idea should be taken into account when doing any work on it.
