Description

I have a picture taken with a Canon PowerShot G1 X Mark III which is rendered by darktable 2.6.2 as an almost entirely black image, except in the highlights, which are mostly green. Incidentally, the image was taken with “Highlight tone priority” (D+) enabled, and I have only encountered this problem with another “D+” image, but even with the feature enabled, most RAW files from the camera are rendered correctly. I am not really sure what is different about this one.

Boosting the exposure does not change the black to anything else.

dcraw renders the image correctly, and the out-of-camera JPEG also looks fine.

(The darktable-exported PNG also exhibits bug #12273 but this is unrelated.)

I stand corrected: lowering the “black level correction” in the exposure module does seem to recover at least the green channel, but the ranges for the different channels seem more different than they should be.

For what it’s worth, opening the DNG file created by Adobe DNG Converter from the CR2 file appears to work correctly.
