Description

When I select Tethering in darktable while on the Ubuntu Linux machine, I get this message - "No camera with tethering support available for use." After I select "PC" on the Lumix G9, I get "New session initiated 'capture job'." I do get a tethering screen in darktable, but no image or telemetry is relayed from the camera such that it can be seen in darktable. If, however, I select "PC" on the Lumix G9, I can see that both SDXC cards are populated in the G9 in the file window in Ubuntu Linux as well as in the File Explorer if I'm on a Windows machine. On the Ubuntu Linux machine, though, I get this message: "Unable to access "LUMIX" - Error mounting /dev/sdd1 at /media/willy/LUMIX: unknown filesystem type 'exfat'." On the Windows machine, however, I CAN access the contents of both SDXC cards and see both JPG and RAW files. That said, when I select tethering on the Windows machine and select "PC" on the G9, I do not get the tethering window in darktable, but File Explorer opens up and shows me "DC-G9" under This PC. I am delighted to provide more info if the developers ping me for further input.

As you cand read it in the manual, darktable use gphoto2 library for tethering. So that's not a darktable issue. The G9 is not supported by gphoto2, like the GX8 I use. See : http://gphoto.org/proj/libgphoto2/support.php

And that's not even a bug from gphoto2, just a missing supported camera. See the gphoto site for more information.
