Description

I have a strange issue with the IQ raw, in 2 versions of darktable (2.6.0 & nightbuild), on ubuntu studio 18.10 & 18.04. In the darkroom & saved files (tiff, png, jpeg), the image is cut just in the middle, in 2 different color renditions, one is colder than the other. I don't have this issue with capture one & rawtherapee.

It looks like a tiling issue.

What is the exact list of used modules and do you use OpenCL ?

Could you divide the allocated memory by 4 (in the preferences) and see if it's split in 4 areas ? (Assuming you don't use OpenCL).

Basically, modules that need a lot of memory split big pictures in tiles, process the tiles in sequence, and combine them back at the end. Things doing frequency stuff, like equalizer, local contrast, high-pass and low-pass, or shadows-highlights, are very sensitive to tiling. To avoid tiling artifacts at the junction, darktable ensures the tiles overlap, but it is possible they don't overlap enough.

Basically, disable every module one by one and see when it disappears.

You didn't attach the sample.

I do attach the sample, i see it. It's not possible to join the raw sample. I put it in dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/s/glttfz3owfcytqe/CF027697.iiq?dl=0

My working machine is an Asus prime x470, amd ryzen 2700x 8cores/16threads, 32gb memory, geforce 1050 ti/4gb. Darktable core options are: Memory in mgb for th.cache:2048, enable disk th.cache:on, colordisk bckends cache:on, number of bckgrd thrds:8, host mem tilling:16079, minim amount mem single buffer tilling:16, opencl:on, opencl profile: very fast gpu. Module use in the sample: output color profile, sharpen, input color profile, base curve, orientation, demosaic (amaze), highlight reconstruction, white balance, raw bw & w.
I tried with no opencl & on, with allocated memory: 1,4,16,32, with just basics modules & a mix of all, the problem stays.

Ah, filesize.

...

It's not darktable pipeline tiling.
It's something like https://github.com/darktable-org/rawspeed/pull/118 maybe exactly that, but in some other tag.
