Description

Found the Pixls.us tutorial to generate denoise profiles for Darktable. This was my first successful attempt. Don't really know how to judge quality, but here it is. Thanks. Let me know if you have questions.

Note, not sure if the denoise profile generator works with other proprietary raw, but as EOS R is not supported yet, I converted them to DNG with Adobe DNG Converter 11.1 prior to feeding to the denoise profile generator.

System is Linux Mint, DT version is 2.70+171~gd9104e737

Please don't merge this just yet, especially since it is impossible to visually verify this on an actual raws :)
I'm not confident it is fully ok to use converted, non-native raws for this.

I'm actually having a tough time just testing it with the DNG files. Darktable doesn't give me any profile options other than generic poisonian. That's using my generated profile or the default noiseprofiles.json. is there something I need to do to enable them? I'm fairly new to darktable.

I have also made a similar package for EOS R. To get it to work on my system, I had to change the "model" string to "Canon EOS R". Now my system find the noise profiles for my camera, and I am happy with the results.

Brilliant, thanks Christian! That worked out well. I'll have to regenerate the noise profiles once CR3 support is added to see if there is any difference, but this is great for now. Thanks again.

My tarball is larger than yours. I attach it here in case we would like to compare. My intention was also to redo the exercise when we have CR3 support.
