Description

Hello,
When clicking on to the magnifier symbol of the geotagging module, instead of getting the time offset, DT freezes for more than 20 minutes.
Then, it can be used again, but nothing is retrieved as the result of the operation.
This is on DT 2.4.2 / Ubuntu 16.04 / Dell E5530 / i3110 2.4 GHz / 8 MB RAM.
Regards,
J.-Luc

When you press ctrl-t, do you get the quick tagging popup at the bottom of the dt window?

Hello Tobias,
As I wrote to the list :
I just discovered that clicking on the magnifier icon of the geotagging module displays an input box at the very bottom of the screen, across 2 pictures.
A single input field above [OK] [Annuler] buttons, all very discreet and confusing with the background, in my case the grey border of the thumbnails.
Then I understand why it did nothing untill I killed DT from the task manager !
So, it seems this is not a bug at all, though it doesn't display anything anyway but an empty field.
Do I open another bug just for the blank field instead the expected offset, or will it be continued there ?

What do you mean? It is supposed to look like this: https://www.darktable.org/2012/09/geotagging-in-darktable/geotagging_offset.jpg

The blog post from which the image is taken might have more insights: https://www.darktable.org/2012/09/geotagging-in-darktable/

OK, so... it appears I had totally misunderstood the thing.
When the mouse goes over the looking glass, the dispalyed helptext is "calculer le d├ęcalage horaire d'une image" (calculate the time offset of a picture), which I thought was an output field meant to dispaly the offset that I did enter a long time ago (and which I whish to retrieve). But it appears it is an input field (which seems redundant with the one at the left of the looking glass, hence my confusion).
Sorry for my misunderstanding. This case can be closed.
