Description

I have an ARW image (Sony) that I added tags to in darktable. Then I proceeded to export that image to jpeg. I had to realize that the tags are missing.

Hi Tim, where do you see that tags are missing? Which program are you using to check the tags?

Actually if I download the exported JPG I can see there the tags - see the attached screenshot

Hi Peter

Huh, that's interesting. I used the folling command:

identify -verbose DSC05352.jpg | grep -i kran

In the past, the tool has shown me the tags. Hm...

Have you tried exiftool or exiv2? I'm wondering what they say about the JPG image.

Hi
I'm getting this problem too.
Darktable is 2.4.0
OS is OpenSuse Tumbleweed
Camera is Fujifilm X-T2.

The specific tags I'm looking for are not being exported in a random selection of images. Out of 195 exported from a directory of RAW files, about 82 were missing the HierarchicalSubject tags (plus other XMP tags).

I'm using EXIFTOOL and EXIV2 to examine tags.

When starting darktable from a terminal and then exporting the image, do you see any warning in the terminal about the Exif data being too big?
