Description

I followed the instructions for the white balance presets. I guess below is what you need to add them to DT? If not, I uploaded the image set from which the data below was extracted to my Dropbox at: <https://www.dropbox.com/s/6qk53d1zcr9vy1k/ILCE_7RM3_Wht_Bal.tar.gz>.

I'm unsure about "Color Temperature/Color Filter" and "Underwater", see http://helpguide.sony.net/ilc/1710/v1/en/contents/TP0001140459.html

For "Color Temperature/Color Filter" it says:

Adjusts the color tones depending on the light source. Achieves the effect of CC (Color Compensation) filters for photography.

and "Underwater" is "Underwater Auto"

Please upload for both present another image with different content and lightning. I want wo check if these presets have fixed values or not.

Sorry for the delay. I was waiting for a sunny day.

The following two images were shot outside as opposed to the first two which were shot in a studio.

The two images can be downloaded from my Dropbox at <https://www.dropbox.com/s/m6jibklyqah8c8u/NewWBshots.tar.gz>.

Below are the wb_extract results.

$ perl wb_extract.pl DSC01160.ARW
  { "ILCE-7RM3", "Unknown (362)", "Underwater Auto", 0,{ 2.41015625, 1, 1.609375, 0 } },

$ perl wb_extract.pl DSC01161.ARW
  { "ILCE-7RM3", "Unknown (362)", "Auto", 0, { 2.46875, 1, 1.5703125, 0 } },

Sorry, I just noticed you requested different content. I shot the color target again. Let me know if you need an additional two shots of something different.

It looks to me like the two settings are an auto white balance of some sort and should be likely ignored (I'm guessing)?

Thanks,
Bob

Thanks.

Underwater rgb settings are different, i'll ignore them.
Are you sure the second is with "Color Temperature/Color Filter" setting? I says auto instead of "Color Temperature/Color Filter" as in your first post. Can you please double check that all the other settings (daylight, shade, ...) are constant? Make another image with these settings and compare the rgb values. You can shot indoor whatever you want, no need to upload the images.

Yes, the one labeled "Auto" is actually the one the camera shows as "C.Temp./Filter" and down on the bottom left corner of the screen it also says 5500K when set to C.Temp./Filter. It also says 5500K on the three "Custom" slots that follow C.Temp./Filter as well.

Here are the labels as they are written in the camera's menu:

Auto
Daylight
Shade
Cloudy
Incandescent
Fluor.: Warm White
Fluor.: Cool White
Fluor.: Day White
Fluor.: Daylight
Flash
Underwater Auto
C.Temp./Filter

I shot a fresh set of photos of my backyard in mid-morning daylight.

One other note, in case it is important, the photo labeled "Shade" (DSC01177.ARW) actually extracts with the Perl script as "Auto" as well. I manually changed it to "Shade" as it is definitely the "Shade" white balance setting.

I went back and checked the "Shade" shot in the original set, and it had the same problem, it extracted as "Auto," but it is definitely the "Shade" setting.

I'm still on the original firmware:

Thanky you.
Presets added. I removed "underwater" and "Color Temperature/Color Filter" but extracted (and added) some color temperature presets from your samples.
