Description

The light table view and the filmstrip do not recognise side scrolling events as sent by the Apple Magic Trackpad and Magic Mouse.

Although I recognise that this might be construed as a platform-specific issue, I also have side scrolling support on a Ubuntu/Elementary OS laptop, and (although I don't run Darktable on Windows) I've been using a Logitech Bluetooth mouse that supports side scrolling by "leaning" on the wheel to either side for a couple of years, so I think side scrolling is pretty much available on any platform (even if not necessarily in widespread use).

As such, my use case for this would be to support side scrolling on both light table and filmstrip for quicker navigation. There is the issue that this may interfere with zooming, but (at least on macOS) the default zooming behaviour is counter-intuitive (I constantly expect the light table to scroll, not zoom). My suggestion would be to use the Alt/Secondary key to toggle between scrolling and zooming.
