Description

Hi all,
Apologies if this has already been reported....
dt 2.2.0 has brought with it the ability to read LR's sidecar .xmp files (Woohoo! Thanks for that!).
But what I have noticed (and only discovered by accident) is that if a LR tone curve has been applied to an image, dt renders the thumbnail (in lighttable view) as pure black.
When I first saw it, I thought "Oh, I've got a corrupted RAW file". But then I just happened to click on an earlier state in the history stack, like '4 - input colour profile', and voila! The image was restored. Then it was a simple case of clicking on each successive level in the stack until I hit the tone curve entry to realise that it was this action which was causing the black thumbnail.

In fact not in 2.2, it was done back in 2013 :)

Maybe the Lr tone curve has changed since then?

Can you upload the RAW + Lr XMP here?

Thanks.

Hehehe.... I don't doubt that! But I'm a noobie. Just migrated to Linux a couple of months ago, and was given a big push once I discovered darktable and how much better it is than Lightroom! Not quite as user-friendly, but certainly more powerful. :)
This image was originally processed in LRCC. Don't know exactly which dot release it was, but it would have been whatever was the current version in July 2016 when this was shot.

Anyway, I'm attaching 3 files:
1. The original RAW (out of a Sony a850). Sorry, crappy family holiday snap. Nothing special to look at here!
2. The dt xmp file (probably unnecessary, but including it for the sake of completeness).
3. The LR xmp file

If I missed anything, sing out!
Cheers.
