Description

Hello,

I'd like to contribute by adding support for a new camera, the Fuji X-T2. I took a set of pictures at the different white balance presents and ran them through the wb_extract Perl script. The results are below.

{ "X-T2", "", "Daylight", 0, { 1.850993, 1, 1.900662, 0 } },
{ "X-T2", "", "Daylight Fluorescent", 0, { 2.324503, 1, 1.629139, 0 } },
{ "X-T2", "", "Day White Fluorescent", 0, { 1.94702, 1, 2.009934, 0 } },
{ "X-T2", "", "White Fluorescent", 0, { 1.84106, 1, 2.592715, 0 } },
{ "X-T2", "", "Incandescent", 0, { 1.231788, 1, 2.857616, 0 } },
{ "X-T2", "", "Cloudy", 0, { 2.05298, 1, 1.63245, 0 } },
{ "X-T2", "", "Underwater", 0,                { 1.850993, 1, 1.900662, 0 } }

Body firmware version: 1.00
Lens firmware version (18-55mm OIS lens): 3.12

I've also uploaded the raw files themselves to dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/opa901qfzrf7koo/AAAXrOSVqFxhE-qWdguAEzpca?dl=0.

I'll try to take a series at different ISO levels tonight. From what I've read in other threads, these should have both clipped whites, clipped blacks, some midrange tones, and be completely out of focus.

Revert "extract_wb: support Fuji X-TRANS RAF. Refs #11174"

Oops, turns out, git master's version of the script already
supports extracting such info from RAF's.

Why did i check that only after?

This reverts commit 2ba203ed6dd01b4aefcec03b6b50e360227f98e5.

Shall I do the same presets with my X-T2 body to be able to build an average value? or is this not needed?
Thx

Ok will extract the wb settings again with the new script.

#4 Updated by Sascha DerKnipser over 3 years ago

The new extract_wb ruby script can't export the wb settings from my fuji X-T2 RAF files.
I get only the following message:
ERROR: Couldn't figure out preset values, sorry

I tried the extract_wb from darktable 2.0.6 and 2.0.7 both will not work.
I tried it with my old Canon 7D file and it is working fine.
Looks like the script is not working with Fuji RAF files.

Any hint?

When you say RAF files, you're using the uncompressed RAW format, right? I had trouble if I tried to used the compressed version.

Yes, I used uncompressed RAW files.
@Andrew: have you done it with the new ruby script?

Hi Roman,

the updated extract_wb of 2.2.0rc0 delivers slightly different results because it extracts the float from tag "WB GRB Levels".
May you use the following wb settings for Fuji X-T2

{ "Fujifilm", "X-T2", Daylight , 0, { 1.8774834437086092, 1, 1.9403973509933774, 0 } }, { "Fujifilm", "X-T2", Cloudy , 0, { 2.0860927152317883, 1, 1.6721854304635762, 0 } }, { "Fujifilm", "X-T2", Incandescent , 0, { 1.2483443708609272, 1, 2.9072847682119205, 0 } }, { "Fujifilm", "X-T2", DayWhiteFluorescent, 0, { 1.9768211920529801, 1, 2.052980132450331, 0 } }, { "Fujifilm", "X-T2", DaylightFluorescent, 0, { 2.3609271523178808, 1, 1.6688741721854305, 0 } }, { "Fujifilm", "X-T2", WhiteFluorescent , 0, { 1.8675496688741722, 1, 2.6390728476821192, 0 } }, { "Fujifilm", "X-T2", Underwater , 0, { 1.8774834437086092, 1, 1.9403973509933774, 0 } },
