Description

The new GX80/GX85/GX7mkII from Panasonic is not supported by Darktable as of now.

Would it be possible to add support for this camera (raw support, white balance, noise profile)?

Regarding size ratios, it seems to me that when I shoot 3:2 instead of 4:3 with this camera, the image is still shot at a 4:3 ratio but there are translucid greyed-out bands to restrict the image to a 3:2 ratio when displayed on the camera screen. I wonder if you still need specific ratio image samples for this device.

I am working on Panasonic GX85 camera support.
I have a problem that I always get some color artefacts at the borders regardless of sensor crop settings.
See attached snapshot from exported image. How can I get rid of the artefacts?

To me that looks either like some lens distortion (TCA), or just pixellation due to the big zoom level.
On which image are you getting that? Is there a wip branch with your changes? Maybe i could take a look..

I see the same artefacts on 200% zoom in darktable.

Hm, i think i see the same artefacts on DNG too? So it's not raw decoding issue.
If i try different demosaic algos, the artefacts change, and i think with amaze there are least artefacts.

And when changing crop in rawprepare, they are still there, as you said.

So i'd guess this is just sensor/lens imperfection / aliasing/moire?
Nothing to be done i'd say.

Can you upload on 4:3 and one 2:3 image please? I want to check if there are any differences.

i have GX80 too and here you can download the cropped 4:3, 3:2, 16:9, 1:1 RAW :

I've tested it with my 4:3 RAW files and it works perfectly. Finally no purplish haze =)
