Description

I am able to use the default shortcuts but can not set new ones. In settings I double click a keybinding, the text changes to indicate that I should enter a key combination. However nothing happens when I press any keys. Darktable does not crash or anything, but no keybinding can be set.

This installation is from official Arch repository. Is there any more information I could provide to help you?

Same here with git master and debian sid.
I hit that yesterday, but did not report.

Happens on 2.0.0 too.
Which means, it is likely to be upstream issue, e.g. gtk regression.
PS: F##k you, gtk.

Not yet on Fedora 24.

$ pkg-config --modversion gtk+-3.0
3.20.9

Fortunately, fedora 25 is scheduled to be released in about a week.

I have the same exactly issue on ubuntu 16.40. I use git version, which is 2.2.0-rc3 at the time I found the issue.

The same issue also happen with version 2.0.5, which come with ubuntu 16.40. I install 2.0.5 hoping that I can use it to set the shortcuts and then import to 2.2.0-rc3. No luck.

$ pkg-config --modversion gtk+-3.0
3.20.9

So it's still the gtk issue I see.

Is there any workaround for this issue? Not being able to set keyboard shortcuts for basic operations is quite frustrating ...

I tried to export the keymap into keyboardrc file, manually modifying the shortcuts and importing again, but changes are not applied for some reason (maybe I'm just doing it wrong).

Side question - in Bug #11450 you mention that using newer GTK from PPA which is supposed to fix this bug will crash darktable. That bug also has target version 2.4. So ... will this problem be fixed with Ubuntu 17.04 (with fixed GTK) or do we need to wait for Darktable 2.4 (next christmas)?
