Description

I am hoping to be able to move my image library from Shotwell (Ubuntu 14.04) to darktable 2.04 (Mac OS X El Capitan) complete with tag information

The process involves the creation of sidecar files exiftool to include the tags extracted from Shotwell, and then importing with darktable.

By repeating the import process several times, with numerous crashes, I got to the stage where the whole library appeared to have been imported, but I had problems with certain tags. For example, an attempt to open the files with the tag "Portugal 1971" resulted in a crash.

I was able to identify the directory that corresponded to this tag, and found that attempts to import any of the .nef files in this directory caused dt to crash (I deleted the library.db file before these attempts).

I have unfortunately not been able to compile darktable from source and get a backtrace - I'm using the version distributed in DMG format.

The first few lines of the crash report from the OS are as follows:

Process: darktable-bin [58422]
Path: /Applications/darktable.app/Contents/MacOS/darktable-bin

I have been unable to upload an example file - the upload procedure has been stalled for about half an hour at just over 50%, so here is a dropbox link to a relevant file:

Does not crash on linux with git master, just does not open:
[rawspeed] FileMap: Attempting to read file out of bounds.
[temperature] failed to read camera white balance information from `IMG001.nef'!
[temperature] `Nikon Nikon COOLSCAN IV ED' color matrix not found for image
[temperature] failed to read camera white balance information from `IMG001.nef'!

I have seen that "incorrect checksum for freed object " in osx bugreports more than once...
