Hi!I have an X-Rite Color Checker. By now I do the color settings by hand.
When I had a look at the colorchecker Software i need to
- convert the NEF to DNG (With Adobe)
- Use the ColorChecker software to create a .dcp File for the Adobe Progs - which i dont have.
This profiling has to be done everytine the lights change.
My Question is: coud you provide a Module where you take the Colord from the ColorChecker and calculate the Colorprofile? And the copy the settings to the other Images (Just like Lens Correction).
The Colors on the Colorchecker should always be fixed.
From what i saw what you did do far in your projekt i dont think that this feature will be too much work for you.

- % Done changed from 0 to 20
- Status changed from New to Triaged
I actually thought about that a while ago and started to write some test code, however I didn't make up my mind how to best tread the colors from the patches and where to put it in the pipe. It could be its own module (probably not a good idea), it could be inside colorin (would break when whitebalance gets changed), it could create a matrix (robust, but less precise) or a LUT (1D? 3D? Not as robust, but for single scene situations probably the better way), or maybe even support both to either generate a generic input profile for the camera or a scene dependent LUT. Once I made up my mind about these I still need to find a good way to fit a matrix/LUT to the patches.
You see, it's not that easy to do that. But we are working on it. Slowly.

From what I can say. The Profile/Matrix/whatever which is generated from the Image whith the colorChart applys only to the Images which the exact same light setting.
If i move one Flash or the sunlight changes, the settings are not longer valid. So it doesnt make sense to make a Camera wide profile. (If i understood it right)
For me it is more a more powerful whitebalance although als a fotographer sometimes I make a manual whitebalance for perfect images and then change the settings for a special look i want to use.
If I can help you in any way just ask.

Im using and watching the Git repository and i saw that you are working on the Color Checker.
Can you give me a short info how it is intend to work?
If i select one patch on the image it often selects a different on the Patchlist.
And how can i get from selecting to automatic correction of the values?
I'll send you an Image where I test (and need) it.
