Description

Hi,

in export module there is the possability to set values for width and height. But I have to differ between landscape and portrait format to get accurate output resolution.
In Lightroom there is a smart function: "Resize to Fit: Long Edge". You only define the long side and the smaller side will be calculated through aspect ratio.

Do you think, there is a possablility to get a similar function in Darktable?

(PS. A time ago I asked Robert Hutton how he manages the export, especially with different export formats: Handy 1280x720, TV 1920x1080, Tablet 2560x1600, etc. He guess me to use image magic... but I hope someday there will be a better solution in Darktable.)

What you set in the export module is not directly the width and height of the exported image but a bounding box the image gets fitted into. So in your case just provide the same value (the intended longer side) in both fields and you will have what you want.
