Description

Hi,

I am using DNG as RAW format as Pentax cameras offers this 'natively'.

While working on older images and exporting them again I noticed a change in colors.
previous export: https://homepage.boku.ac.at/kanzian/dt/old.jpg
newer jpg: https://homepage.boku.ac.at/kanzian/dt/new.jpg

Browsing through the commits, I found https://github.com/darktable-org/darktable/commit/37b60adc031a54e7b46998eddf958b69aa7358f5.
'Prefer embedded matrix over camera matrix'

Switching back from embedded to enhanced matrix in the input color module seems to bring back the old colors?
https://homepage.boku.ac.at/kanzian/dt/enhanced.jpg

Here are the source files:
RAW: https://homepage.boku.ac.at/kanzian/dt/IMGP20440.DNG
XMP: https://homepage.boku.ac.at/kanzian/dt/IMGP20440.DNG.xmp

What can I do to keep the colors of my images, without switching them back manually?

At least it would be nice to keep them untouched.

Hi,

But this will only apply to newly imported images or am I wrong?

Of course I can select all images (only 7000) and set the matrix manually back to enhanced by applying a style.
However, this problem will maybe hit more users once a new stable version will be released.

Yes, this is a known issue in how we handle the colorin settings. Since we don't save the defaults when the defaults change old images get new values. We have half a plan to solve this but it won't be ready for 2.0. Meanwhile we're avoiding adding new matrices to not cause these issues.

I have a new camera (Pentax K-3II) and a nice IT8 target now.

What is the current status? Will new matrices be added, if I supply a proper sample shot of an IT8 target?
