Description

Darktable currently supports most Panasonic cameras that output RW2 type RAW files. The m4/3's sensors in these camera's unsurprisingly have a native aspect ratio of 4:3. Most Panasonic cameras have the added possibility to crop the RAW file in the camera body. These special "cropped" RW2 files are often not very well supported yet.

Usually each camera has four "crop" modes:
- 4:3
- 3:2
- 16:9
- 1:1

To help us add support for these, we need a single RW2 file for each of these aspect ratio modes.

Each shot needs to be at a low ISO, and should be reasonably decently lit. Contents of the shots doesn't matter too much. Please provide something with some structure and detail, and please avoid submitting shots with recognizable people in them.

While not directly related to Darktable we'd also appreciate it, if you'd check if rawsamples.ch already has a sample for this camera, and if not, please submit a sample to them as well.

Please, consider files under the following link as examples for Panasonic GF5 in different aspects.

Excellent. Thanks!

I just added the aspect ratio modes for the GF5:

https://github.com/darktable-org/darktable/commit/fce58c9a69d75f191d8de05f44728ade1ce1c997

This will make it into our next major release (1.6.0).

On a sidenote, I also just noticed we don't have white balance preset for this model either. These aren't critical, but can be convenient. Would you mind shooting a single RW2 with the camera set to each camera white balance preset. So this should result in 5-10 files, as this differs per vendor/model.

Thanks you a lot. :)

I've added following files into those directory on Google Drive:

RAW_PANASONIC_GF5_16x9_WB_auto.RW2
RAW_PANASONIC_GF5_16x9_WB_cloudy.RW2
RAW_PANASONIC_GF5_16x9_WB_daylight.RW2
RAW_PANASONIC_GF5_16x9_WB_flash.RW2
RAW_PANASONIC_GF5_16x9_WB_incandescent.RW2
RAW_PANASONIC_GF5_16x9_WB_shade.RW2

There are three more whitebalance presets: custom1, custom2 and one, depended on colour temperature. I think that they are meaningless for you, am I right?

Excellent!

The relevant white balance preset have been added:

https://github.com/darktable-org/darktable/commit/c18a2bf8e0b1e68617d01db3ee3c2967954e86be

And indeed, the custom presets aren't relevant for this particular purporse.
