Darktable lens correction recognition for the Fujifilm FinePix S8500 digital camera (46x Long-Zoom variant) does not currently exist. I have tried and tried again tinkering with the settings trying to find a comparable lens to use the lens correction utility in the app with to no luck, the closest thing I could find is the Fujifilm Finepix S9000 camera in the dropdown menu, but corrections aren't the most accurate since they use different Fujinon lenses.

My version of the Fujifilm FinePix S8500 can be found here for anyone wanting to help me take on this role to finding a viable lens correction algorithm:

Please note that the FinePix S8500 is one of the most popular long-zoom digital cameras in the world and is highly rated for it's product quality and specs over price ratio. Adding support won't just benefit me, it will benefit the entire community in terms that Darktable will be supporting yet another extremely popular consumer camera variant and making the project an even more viable alternative to the expensive Adobe Lightroom proprietary project.

Lens correction is handled by the lensfun library, which is tended to by the Lensfun project. You should contact them about adding support for your camera/lens.
